Pablo Neruda

Some through internet wormhole or another I found an Instagram account @storiesgram who run weekly themed challenges. This weeks challenge is Pablo Neruda since his birthday was on the 12th. A few years ago for rather elaborate birthday cards I 'illustrated' 2 poems for Dougie.

So of course, I thought...well I could mix the images from those cards in a graphic or 2 or 3 or 4...

Christmas decorations

My Dad sent me this picture of one of my decorative keys hanging along side some slighty more christmassy decorations. My mum has made a special cedar and LED light that sits on the table to show off these ornaments.

Happy Birthday Mum!

Bee Birthday card for my Mother. I have had some ideas for glass jewelry inspired by bees and honeycomb. The actual items not quite realised in time (some defunct UV film) but here are my bee drawings as a card. I scanned the line drawing and printed on to tracing paper, stitched onto yellow card.

Father's day this year is also the first day of Spring

This is a card for my Dad, I have come a little unstuck with my rubber mould for the 'Woodland Tankard' so it is still a work in progress. So here is Spike the hedgehog (one of the characters on the mug and a sometime source of nickname inspiration for me) in the Dunce's corner...
The first day of Spring was lovely and warm with the garden fragrant with Daffodils, Jonquils, Hyacinths and Snowdrops.

Happy Birthday Betty

As you see, this is a themed card. This morning Betty and I went up in a Seaplane, over the city and far away.
Well as far as palm beach and back anyway.
The pilot timed it well, so the massive down pour happened AFTER we landed and crossed the jetty.

Merry Christmas and all that jazz

A sample of my Christmas cards this year. Comments have been that they reflect my glass work of the moment..some bright spark suggested glass pop ups!

The world's your oyster Jon

Dougie's friend Jon is 'retiring'. Dougie wanted a card and he gave me a fairly specific brief. A font like 'Indiana Jones' and to use some of Jon's hobbies and interests as illustration for a card that holds a voucher for a Yachting experience for two. This is what I came up with after some input from the creative director.

Jon's farewell party was also part of his work Christmas party, so we had a chance to relax down by the John Oxley.
